Writing, Editing & Publishing
Writing
Your project is important to you. If you need something written--anything-- an article, a story, something for your website, or some ad copy, you want it to have the fullest attention by a professional. You can get that here. If you want something ghostwritten, then your name will go on it, so you really want special attention. We do that. You can see if we fit your needs and are the right person for your project.
Editing
As a professional editor, it is my duty (and in my interest) to make your writing as good as it can be. My experience and ability to edit for you, so the piece is a better version of your writing and not mine (a good editor keeps his or her voice out of the way) is what I pride myself on. I'm able to do this for widely diverse clients and voices.
Some types of editing: These may overlap or be combined, but this gives you an idea of what's done and our services.
--Copyediting: This deals with basic grammar, spelling, punctuation, and usage.
--Proofreading: Can be limited to typos, misspellings, basic punctuation and style/formating.
--Line Editing: More intensive, more in-depth. Some phrases and word choices can be altered, and some light cutting or very light revising is done. (Light, medium or heavy line editing can be done.)
--Revision: Some phrases, sections are cut or re-done, with light rewriting and sometimes re-arrangement of material. (Again, light, medium or heavy versions of this can be done.)
--Re-writing: Just what it says. The manuscript needs to be re-written, which we do, then you decide which changes you wish to keep. This can be an extensive, but sometimes only portions of a manuscript need to be rewritten.
--Substantive/Developmental Editing: This involves looking at every facet of the manuscript, from the approach the author has taken, along with usage and expression via the right word choices. This is an extensive process, but again there are degrees of how much or little is done in this process, and it's almost always combined with or includes other editing.
--Consulting & Tutorial: Most writers I've worked with, whose work I've edited, have commented how this has benefited them and made them a better writer. We can take a limited number of people and work out a customized program of consulting on a project or teaching you how to become a better writer.
So this gives you an idea of some services and some of the things we can do for you. We have general fees, but it's best to contact me and describe the project in an email, and I'll furnish you a quote. If the project isn't right for me--I'll tell you that and if I know someone who might be a better fit for you, I'll let you know that, too. If we decide to work together, settle on the fee and agree upon the time span for the project, we can go to work on your project.
Our rates are competitive, our service is exceptional. When you have a project, please consider our services. You'll be glad you did. Thanks.
Should we take on your project, we give it the fullest attention, effort, and the resultant quality of work shows. If you are interested, feel free to contact us. Good luck with your writing, editing, and publishing projects.
